About this piece
A black ground carrying an all-over boteh field in ivory, rust and green, with a broad patterned palla and a matching blouse piece. Kani weaving is a twill-tapestry technique. The pattern is built into the cloth on the loom, colour by colour, with small wooden bobbins called kanis rather than a shuttle thrown right across the width. The design lives in the structure of the fabric rather than on its surface. Made in silk blend. 5.5 m saree with an 0.8 m blouse piece. This is a single piece — one of one. When it sells it is gone, and nothing identical replaces it, because no two worked pieces come out the same. Prices include GST. Dry clean only; store folded in cotton muslin with a cedar block, never in plastic. To ask about measurements, colour in daylight, or anything else before you buy, message us on WhatsApp and a person will answer.
