About this piece
Gul-e-hazara means thousand flowers, and the border here earns the name: dense floral repeats worked in the same twill-tapestry technique as a full kani saree, compressed into a stole-width field. Woven on a lake-green ground with ivory and madder motifs. A stole takes a fraction of the time a saree does, which is the only reason a kani piece can sit at this price — the technique is identical, the surface area is not.
